About me, Francesca Alberico wedding photographer
Hi,
I’m Francesca
I’m a wedding photographer from Genoa, and I live by the sea with Andrea and Manù, our curly Lagotto, a proper little troublemaker who has completely stolen our hearts.
I’m sensitive, curious and observant. At work I’m precise and I ask a lot of myself, because I feel deeply responsible for telling the story of a day that can never be repeated.
But I’m also a simple person: a pizza is all it takes to make me happy, a song in my ears to carry me through the day, and a ball at my feet to really switch off from everything.

My path
From design
to real stories
I have a degree in Design, and for years my path seemed to lead somewhere else: interiors, clean lines, spaces to imagine. Then a studio I was working with asked me to photograph a wedding.
It didn’t take me long to realize that what I was looking for, careful composition, attention to detail, the ability to tell something through images, was right there too, and in an even more alive way. I left graphics and design behind and started photographing weddings: that was over 16 years ago, and in 2016 I opened my own business.

The whole story
A story told
in full 360 degrees
A wedding isn’t only about the couple.
It’s also the people watching you as you say your vows, a parent trying to hold back the tears, friends laughing together, kids running between the tables, and all those small moments that often happen far from the center of the scene.
My work is to hold these moments together and turn them into one complete story.
I photograph you, but also everything around you. Because it’s the people, the relationships and the most spontaneous reactions that make every wedding different from any other.
The day
Without the stress
of photos
During the wedding I follow what happens, without imposing a sequence of poses or constantly interrupting the flow of the day.
I try to be there discreetly, leaving you time to talk, laugh, be moved and spend time with your guests. You won’t have to spend hours in front of the camera or keep worrying about where to look and how to stand.
We’ll still set aside a little time for couple portraits, usually about half an hour. Then I’ll give you a few simple suggestions, without asking you to act out something that isn’t you.
Group photos are of course possible, but I prefer to keep them simple and take them on request, so they don’t take too much time away from the party.
Depending on the wedding, I can work alone or with a trusted second photographer, to follow the day in the most complete and natural way possible.

Before the wedding
Before I photograph you…
I want to get to know you
Every couple is different.
Some people are outgoing and some are more reserved, some love being the center of attention and some would almost rather disappear in front of the lens. There’s no single way to photograph everyone.
That’s why, before the wedding, it matters to me to listen to you and understand who you are. During the day I watch how you are together and adapt my approach to the people in front of me.
Empathy is a fundamental part of my work. It helps me put you at ease, respect your pace and tell your story without forcing anything.
I don’t want you to look like the couples I’ve already photographed. I want you to find in the images your own way of looking at each other, of laughing and of living that day.
How I work
What makes me
different
A recognizable style
Warm, enveloping images, never cold or “magazine style”, that you can recognize at a glance.
A 360° story
Not just the couple, but the whole day, with all the people who share it.
A selective approach
I choose weddings where there’s care for detail and room to build a real story, with no chasing after a glossy or impersonal look.
A trusted team
I often work with Marco, who I’ve been collaborating with for over 10 years, and with Giorgia, who shares my same sensitivity toward families and children.
Away from the lens
The simple things that make me happy

I love Genoa, stubborn character and all, and I feel lucky to live by the sea.
I have a real passion for design and interiors: I’d move house every year, although Andrea doesn’t seem particularly keen on the idea.
I love music and the little things in life. I’m also a curious traveler: Jamaica is still one of the best trips of my life, and Japan is the next place I’m dreaming of. But my longest running passion is soccer. I’ve played since I was a little girl, and still today, when I need to clear my head, all I need is a ball at my feet.
All of this is part of me and, inevitably, it finds its way into my work: sensitivity, an eye for shapes, a love for real stories and the wish to find beauty in the simplest moments.
Your story,
Before I photograph you…
I want to hear it.
Tell me about yourselves, the day you’re imagining and the people who’ll be part of it.
