Destination wedding photographer
in Italy

I’m Francesca Alberico. I live in Genoa and I’ve been photographing weddings since 2011: more than two hundred so far, across Liguria, Piedmont and Tuscany, and at selected venues around Italy.

Many of the couples who write to me live abroad: most of them in the United States, the UK and Switzerland, some in Singapore, and in recent years more and more from Germany, the Netherlands and France. Anabella and Brandon came from London, Chelsea and Victor from the United States, Jaewon and Giulio from Geneva, Tiphaine and Charles from France, Charlotte and Niklas from Germany.

Since 2011

One wedding,
one date

I take around twenty weddings a year, never more than twenty five, and only one per date: on your wedding day it’s me who’s there, from start to finish.

I follow spontaneous gestures and the relationships between people, without shooting a lot at random: I wait for the right moment, the one where you’ll recognize yourselves when you look at the photos.

Where I photograph

From the sea
to the hills

Every area has its own light, its own pace and its own venues. You’ll find them described here.

Portofino and the Italian Riviera

Santa Margherita, Portofino, Finale Ligure: historic villas, terraces over the sea and gardens among the olive trees.

Gavi, Monferrato and the Langhe: hills, vineyards and large wine estates.

Tuscany

Villas among the olive trees and the hills around Lucca.

Multi day celebrations

A welcome dinner or pizza party, the wedding day, then a goodbye brunch or a pool party: I can be there for all of it.

Just the two of you

Elopements and
intimate weddings

Not every wedding needs a hundred guests. I also photograph elopements, just the two of you, and intimate weddings with your closest family and friends.

The way I work doesn’t change: I stay discreet, follow what happens and wait for the right moment, whether there are two of you or twenty.

Good to know

Planning from abroad

Couples who travel to Italy usually start planning early: I only take one wedding per date, so for a weekend between May and October I’d suggest writing to me at least a year ahead.

When a wedding is far from Genoa, I try to arrive the day before to get to know the place, the routes and the spaces at the venue.

FAQ

Before you write to me

01. Is travel included?

Travel is included within 100 km each way; beyond that I ask for fuel and tolls and, when the trip is longer than about an hour and a half, accommodation.

02. Do you photograph elopements?

Yes, both elopements and intimate weddings. Write to me with the date and the place you have in mind.

03. What if it rains?

Nothing changes for me. I always keep a clear umbrella in the car, and I’ve photographed weddings in every kind of weather, even during a red weather alert.
