Villas among the olive trees

Wedding photographer in Lucca
and Tuscany

I’m Francesca Alberico, a wedding photographer based in Genoa. Besides Liguria and Piedmont, I also photograph weddings in Tuscany, and I’d love to do it more and more often.

Villas among the olive trees, hills on the horizon, dinners outdoors at long tables: it’s a landscape so different from the sea I know by heart, and that’s exactly what draws me to it.

Why here

Why get married in
Tuscany

For the villas, above all. In Tuscany you can read the region’s history in the interiors: terracotta floors, frescoed ceilings, windows that open onto the hills.

It’s a place that draws couples from very far away, like Tiphaine and Charles, who came from France to get married near Lucca. And traveling is one of the things I love most: coming to meet you here is part of my work.

The villa where I photographed a wedding in Tuscany.

Villa Buonvisi, Lucca

Just outside Lucca, surrounded by centuries old olive groves and overlooking the Tuscan hills. The interiors tell the story of the region: terracotta floors, frescoed ceilings, windows open onto the landscape. The villa’s park is the perfect place for the cocktail hour and for dinner at long tables.

Season and light

Your day in
Tuscany

Far from home I work the way I always do: I follow what happens without interrupting the party, and during the ceremony I move discreetly. For Tiphaine and Charles, the day went from the church to the villa’s park for the cocktail hour, all the way to dinner outdoors.

Whenever possible I photograph the couple portraits at sunset: half an hour to breathe and enjoy a few minutes on your own.

Good to know

I arrive the day before

When a wedding is far from Genoa, I try to arrive the day before to get to know the place, the routes and the spaces at the venue.

If your wedding lasts more than one day, with a welcome dinner or a brunch the day after, I can be there for those moments too.

FAQ

Weddings in Tuscany

01. How far ahead should we book?

I only take one wedding per date: for a weekend between May and October I’d suggest writing to me at least a year ahead.

02. Can the ceremony and reception be in the same place?

It depends on the venue you choose. When they’re in two different places, like the church and the villa for Tiphaine and Charles, we plan the travel together in the timeline for the day.

03. What if it rains?

Nothing changes for me. I always keep a clear umbrella in the car, and I’ve photographed weddings in every kind of weather, even during a red weather alert.
