Tiphaine and Charles, a wedding at Villa Buonvisi, Lucca

Tiphaine and Charles came from France and chose Tuscany for their wedding, at Villa Buonvisi in Lucca, a villa that tells the story of the region above all through its interiors: terracotta floors, frescoed ceilings, windows that open onto the hills.

The hours of getting ready went by among friends in pink robes, antique mirrors and old world sitting rooms. The religious ceremony took place in church, with smiles and hugs right after the I do, and then it was back to the villa: cocktails on the lawn, guests on little sofas in the garden, a vintage Fiat 500 along the drive.

Dinner was served at long tables outdoors, with the hills and cypress trees all around and lights hanging above the tables. A relaxed day, elegant without being formal, ending with free dancing under the stars. For me it was also a chance to tell the story of Tuscany with the same eye I bring to Liguria: the people first, and the landscape around them.
