Anabella and Brandon, a wedding at Villa Durazzo, Santa Margherita Ligure
Anabella and Brandon live in London. She’s originally from Ecuador, he’s half Belgian and half South African: to get married they chose Santa Margherita Ligure and brought together guests from every corner of the world at Villa Durazzo. People who usually live thousands of miles apart, finally all in the same place, on the same day. That was what moved them more than anything else, and that’s why their wish was simple: to spend as much time as possible with their guests.
The day began with getting ready in the heart of Santa Margherita, between makeup, the buttons of the dress fastened one by one and the last few minutes of waiting. The religious ceremony took place in the Church of San Giacomo di Corte, right next to the villa, with its view over the gulf and the harbor: a few steps on foot and the couple were already wrapped in their guests’ hugs.
Then the park of Villa Durazzo, with cocktails on the black and white pebbled terrace that makes this venue recognizable at a glance, and dinner on the covered terrace next to the villa, among yellow and white flowers. The cake cutting among sparklers, a dance floor full until late, heart shaped glasses included. Telling the story of this day meant above all following the people: the glances, the laughter, the reunions after so long.
