Jaewon and Giulio, a wedding at Castello Bruzzo, Genoa

Jaewon is Korean, Giulio has Genoese roots. They live between Geneva and Paris, but to get married they chose to come back to Genoa, his city, bringing friends and family from all over the world to Castello Bruzzo, on the hills overlooking the city’s rooftops and the sea.

The symbolic ceremony took place on the castle’s panoramic terrace, under an arch of white flowers, with Genoa in the background. Vows read out loud, the veil moving in the wind, a few tears barely held back: simple moments, shared with their dearest people. After the ceremony, the castle’s tower and battlement walkways became the perfect place for couple portraits, with walks hand in hand and a few improvised dance steps.

As evening came, the party moved into the halls inside, among majolica tiles, decorated ceilings and a dance floor that never emptied. Instead of a classic wedding cake the couple chose a berry tart, and they raised their glasses as the lights of Genoa came on in the background. An intimate, refined day, but above all one full of love.
